Policy and Advocacy Compensation Schemes Update June 2024
WorkSafe Victoria is conducting its first annual provider survey, the results of which will be made publicly available. OTA members who provide services under this scheme are encouraged to participate in the survey, which will be open between 5 June and 11 July and can be accessed here.
To support OTA’s current advocacy activities with the agency, OTA urges members to emphasise the need for several important changes in their responses, including:
- Revised OT Travel Fees: Currently, OTs can only bill for travel when conducting an Assessment of Daily Living (ADL)
- Extended ADL Billing Hours: Presently, OTs are only permitted to bill for four hours to perform an ADL, despite these assessments often taking much longer to complete
- Certificates of Capacity: Enable OTs to issue subsequent Certificates of Capacity under the scheme to improve efficiencies within the scheme. Currently only Medical Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths can issue these.
