OTA in the News: Samantha Hunter opinion article in Wangaratta Chronicle

CEO of Occupational Therapy Australia, Samantha Hunter, wrote an opinion piece featured in the Wangaratta Chronicle, calling on the government to urgently address the critical shortage of occupational therapists across the country. She advocates for the expansion of the Commonwealth Practical Paid Placement Scheme to include occupational therapy students, highlighting the significant barriers they face due to financial hardship. 

"We support Federal MP for Indi Helen Haines who moved an amendment on Wednesday to require the government to include all allied health sectors in paid placements. We urge the government to address the desperate shortage of Occupational Therapists (OT) by supporting them to enter the profession by expanding the practical paid placement scheme."
