OTA attends Mental Health Australia Parliamentary Advocacy Day
On Wednesday 13 September, Carolyn Nikoloski (CEO, Mental Health Australia) welcomed delegates across the mental health sector, including OTA to the Mental Health Australia 2023 Parliamentary Advocacy Day.
Mental Health Australia released their 2023 Report to the Nation today calling for the Australian Government to put mental health reform on the agenda.
Attendees also heard from Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, the Hon. Emma McBride MP; Shadow Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Mrs Melissa McIntosh MP; and Minister for Health and Aged Care, the Hon Mark Butler MP.
OTA delegates Alissa Fotiades and Geoffrey Lau spent the day at Parliament meeting with Members of Parliament advocating on behalf of OTs working across the mental health sector.
