Now Released: Framework for NSW Health Services
Announcing the new NSW Family Focused Recovery Framework 2020-2025: a Framework for NSW Health Services has been released. The Framework replaces the NSW Children of Parents with a Mental Illness (COPMI) Framework for Mental Health Services 2010-2015.
The Framework
- aims to improve outcomes for infants, children, young people, parent/carers and families through expanding the family focused aspect of person-centred assessment, treatment and support.
- acknowledges mental health and wellbeing outcomes for parents, children and family members are interrelated and can be interdependent. Supporting parents with mental health issues in their parenting role can improve personal recovery as well as improve outcomes for their children.
- guides the work of NSW Mental Health Services that provide clinical and non-clinical service to families and calls on Mental Health and general health services to develop coordinated and integrated care processes.
The framework is also available on the NSW Health website: www.health.nsw.gov.au/mentalhealth/Pages/services-camhs.aspx
