SESSION OVERVIEW
OTA are pleased to partner with ACON, Australia’s largest health organisation specialising in community health, inclusion and HIV responses for people of diverse sexualities and genders (LGBTQ+ people).
Enrol in this course to strengthen your understanding of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) people and communities
We all interact with LGBTQ+ people in our daily lives: friends, family, colleagues, customers and more. Build your confidence in these interactions by learning more about diverse sexualities, genders and this diverse community group. 
This on demand eLearning course will answer your questions like: 
- What do LGBTQ+ and different terms for gender and sexuality mean? 
- What should I know about gender diversity? 
- Why is inclusion important? 
- How can I be an ally? 
The eLearning course has 3 interactive modules: 
- Meet the Communities 
- Know the Facts 
- Understand the Lived Experiences 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
By attending this course, you will be able to: 
- Define LGBTQ+ and differentiate between gender and sexuality 
- Describe the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people 
- Outline the impacts of discrimination on the LGBTQ+ community and the significance of reducing this through visibility and inclusion 
- Implement practical LGBTQ+ allyship including inclusive language and appropriate terminology, creating safer interactions and physical spaces

This course is developed by LGBTQ+ subject matter experts and include videos of community members sharing their experiences.

It is expected that it will take approximately 1 hour to complete this short course.
A certificate will be issued on completion of the course.
